You Rock Card

It's been a long time since I've updated my blog, so much has happened. A divorce, two moves and a new job (or two or three).  I haven't had time to do many cards until lately.  I've found stamp sets from Altenew that I love, I tend to make flower cards more than any other.  Their flower sets are layered making beautiful, more realistic flowers than I was able to make before.  They also come with dies, making it easy to cut the flowers out so I can stack them, and raise them, giving my cards more dimension.  Here's a card made with the Vintage Flowers stamp set and the Mega Word 2 die cut.  I cut 3 "you"s out and glued them together, and stamped and cut the flowers and glued them on, using pop dots on one rose.  I finished up with some bling scattered around.

Hello everybody, I made a cute card for my friend and co-worker.   It is made with Lori's Garden cartridge.  I really love that cartridge (I've probably said that before), but I thought this bird was not very pretty, but decided to use it anyway.

 

I found out I love it and have used a lot for cards.  I used a sizzix texture for the background, and added a blue gem for the eye and pearls for the center of the flowers. Thanks for stopping by.  God bless!  Stay safe those in Colorado Springs, they are fighting a big fire close to town.

Country Carnival-Hearts

Here's another card for my teenage grand(son) (daughter) I'm not too sure yet.  I used another card package from Studio G, also $1.00 at Walmart.  It has a hole in the card and I wasn't too sure how to use them till now.  The hearts are from the basic shapes in the Imagine, the butterfly and flowers from the Country Carnival cartridge, and the saying from Better Together cartridge.

Better Together-Valentine Bear

Here's a valentine card I made with the Imagine, the bear is from Better Together cartridge it has some good things to use for valentines.  I bought at Walmart, I got a package of Studio G, 8 cards and 8 envelopes for $1.00!  The heart and background are from the basic shapes in the imagine-though I think the background color is from Lori's Garden, and the flowers are from Country Carnival (I used those because I had them, but some of the flowers from Lori's Garden would work too).

I trimmed it with gold stickles, and added google eyes.  This is for my teenage grandchild, so I tried to make their cards a little different and no so childish.  Thanks for stopping by!

Lori's Garden-Tweetheart Valentine

I made several valentines cards today.  Since my grandchildren are getting bigger (most are teenagers now) I wanted to make them a little more mature.  I made this card for my Granddaughter, though she's not a teen yet. It's pretty in pink and full of gems.  Something I think a little girl would like!

Snow Angel - Frosty Kisses

Today I made a card using the Cricut Snow Angel cartridge.  I did the little girl snowman (snowgirl?) probably at 3 to 3 1/2 inches.  She's mounted on pink card stock, on a white card.  I used a wiggly eye, some gold gems for the buttons, and a pearl for her hat.  I added a little bit of stickles diamond for some frost on the hat and lettering. 

The wording comes from Cricut's Winter Woodland cartridge. Thanks, have a good day and a great weekend!

Lori's Garden - Peace

I love these birds from Lori's Garden, in fact I thought they looked dove-like for Christmas, so I made a Christmas card out of one.  The Peace is from Winter Woodland. 

I blinged it up a little with a pink gem for it's eye, and some gold stickles along the wings and on the tail.  To give it dimension I lifted the head and bottom wing with clear pop dots.

Lori's Garden - Love You

I made this card with Lori's Garden....did I say I love it yet......I made the center strip with doily lace stamp and a ribbon going down the middle.  I added the Love You in center after blinging it up a bit with gold stickles in the center of the flowers.  The butterfly is 2 layers, the wings being lifted with glue dots, it also has some gold stickles to accent it's wings, and a blue gem for it's eye.

Lori's Garden - Thank You

Hello everybody.  I got a lacy edge trimmer (doily lace by Martha Stewart), and made a couple of cards using Lori's Garden cartridge for the Cricut Imagine--Love it!

I had a little trouble making the thank you tag to stick because part is on the ribbon.  I ended up using medium clear pop dots (Elmers craft bond) which gave it a really good lift, and it stays stuck!  The wings on the big butterfly are raised using the same pop dots on the bottom layer and thinner ones, also Elmers craft bond, on the top layer.  I used gold stickles to add bling to the butterflies!  Thanks for stopping by, have a blessed day!

Enjoy the Seasons - Give Thanks

Happy Monday everybody.  I made a card using Enjoy the Seasons cartridge for Thanksgiving.   Sometimes I envision the way I want to make a card, and when I start putting it together it doesn't look so hot.  I wanted to use the fall tree for the background on this, but it was all too wild.  So here's what I ended up with:

I used stardust Stickles to outline the stems and lines of the squash and pumpkins, and a little red pearl for the hedgehog's eye!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Lori's Garden - Swinging Bird

Hello, I made a little card using Lori's Garden.  I used the little bird on a swing along with a branch and some flowers I had left over.  I used glue dots to raise the layers just a little (there are 3 or 4 layers) 

The background paper had glittery flowers,  I used some Bliss Mist on the bird for a little bling, clear gem for the birds eye and red pearl beads for the centers of the flowers.  It doesn't have a sentiment, yet.  Thanks, have a marvelous day!

Lori's Garden - Flowers and Bird

I guess we're going fishing tomorrow, so I have time to post another inspirational card I made using Lori's Garden.  I''m loving that cartridge!

I blinged it up with a clear gem for the birds eye, some glitter around the bird and the flowers along with pearls in the centers.  The flowers have 3 layers (they would have 5 or 6 if I used them all), I used glue dots to add a little dimension.  I also used glue dots and doubled them under the birds head and wing to make it look like it was flying.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed day!

Lori's Garden - Butterfly and Rose

We're supposed to go fishing tomorrow, so I wanted to post my next card today.  It's made from Lori's Garden, a beautiful cart full of flowers, birds and butterflies.  You're probably going to see a lot more of it.  I also wanted to make some inspirational cards, so here is the first of hopefully many more:

It says " .. the earth is filled with the lovingkindness of the Lord Psalm 33:5.  I really wanted to bling it up, so I sprayed the flower and butterfly with Bliss Mist, added glitter to the butterfly, and put pearls in the center of the rose and the little flowers around it.  It is this time of the year I do feel the lovingkindness of our Lord.  He must really have an eye for beauty, just look at all the colors!  Have a great day!

Enjoy the Seasons - Fall Squirrel

Hello, and Happy Friday.  It seems like it's been forever since I've made anything, or blogged.  I've been working on cleaning all my card mess out of the dining room and putting them in my unused craft room.  I've cleaned out stuff I didn't think I would use, and found a small kitchen table (my sons) I could put in the room.  After all that, I don't like it.  It feels too isolated and the table is too small :(  .  Crafting sure takes a lot of room.  But I have my dining room back :)

I thought it would be nice to combine the fall leaves and the squirrel stump on the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.  However, after printing and cutting, the fall leaves looked kind of faded.  So I used these leaves I bought on sale some time ago.  I also added a googlie eye to the squirrel! Thanks for looking.

Better Together - Best Friends

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I was out of state helping my parents move.....what a week!
I made a friendship card, simple, but I really liked the little girl with her dog.  I'm not really sure the dog hug would be taken, the receiver might think the giver thinks of them as a dog???, or a compliment, we are awful fond of our doggies!!!

The card is very dark brown, with a creamy layer, and a bow :) . I used the small glue dots again, lifting the girl's body two layers and her head three layers deep.  There is a little bit of glitter in the centers of the flowers too!

JT - Fishing

I was thinking about this project and wanted to use the JT fish for my hubby's fishing picture.  I saw a challenge at My Pink Stamper and decided to make this page for the challenge. The winner can be on their design team-sounds like a blast!  We are supposed to:
 Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......OrangeTurquoise GreenBrown(other optional color of your choice) My optional color is blue. I made this layout using the JT cartridge for the imagine and the text is made with Gypsy Font, colored with a pattern from the JT cart.  The fish are almost 4 inches, I split them and copied them and fit to page to make 2 complete layered fish on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of white paper.  I sprayed them with Bliss Mist to give them a nice shiny glow.  Aren't those fish funny?I made the "waves" out of the border in the JT cart.  I printed two at one inch, and two more turquoise on the cut only setting.

I never would have thought to use orange and brown on my layout except for the challenge, but I think those colors really set off my pictures, so if I don't win the challenge, I'm a winner already!  Have a great day!

JT - Fly

I made a Fly card from the JT cartridge, because I really like the bird!  And I even got some ribbon on it!!!

JT - Dragon

I didn't think I was real thrilled with the dragon in the JT cartridge, but I had made this background paper, mixing light brown and light pink distress inks.  Then I sprayed the whole thing with whipped honey butter Bliss Mist, giving the whole thing a gold shimmer and sparkles.  It works wonderfully with the dragon!  I added some Stickles along some of the edges of the dragon.

And alas, I couldn't work the ribbon in :(  Thanks for looking!

Stretch Your Imagination - Wedding Card

As promised here is the other card I made, but didn't use.  I really liked the way it turned out, but not as much as the one I used.

It doesn't show, but the whole card is shiny and sparkley, I used little rhinestones for the buttons on the dress, and of course I got my ribbon and a flower in there :) .

Stretch Your Imagination - Wedding Card

My brother-in-law is getting married this weekend, so I made his wedding card using Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and the Imagine machine.  I used the stretched wedding card and the stretched couple for the envelope.  I had a cream 5 X 7 envelope, so I made the card 7" tall, it's not 5" wide, but it seemed best to fit to the tall length and not the width length.  I used the imagine machine to print the frame, I think it's the imagine more cartridge.  The love was from the Cricut Sampler cartridge.  I added ribbon, flowers, and put little pearls down the front of the bride for buttons.

I made another wedding card using the little bride and groom, but will have to post it after the wedding, I just wanted to post this before I write on it :).  Have a great day!
